How to View Saved Wi-Fi Passwords in Windows 11

 What if you need to see the Wi-Fi passwords for a network that you’ve saved on your Windows 11 computer but you don’t remember it?

Here are all the things you can do with your windows PC to show your Wi-Fi password.

Once you’ve configured your wifi router and connected all of your devices, you’re unlikely to think about your Wi-Fi password much.

However, if you got a new device and forgot your Wi-Fi password then follow the below steps to view the saved Wi-Fi passwords on your Windows.

Using the Command Prompt

Using the Windows Command Prompt, you may perform a wide range of operations. We use a few commands to see the Wi-Fi password.

Open a PowerShell or Command Prompt window. PowerShell can be used by right-clicking the Start button or by pressing Windows+X.

You can see the list of network profiles on your computer by running the command:

netsh wlan show profiles

Locate the network name for which you require the password and then run the following command, replacing “NETWORK” with the network name:

netsh wlan show profile name="NETWORK" key=clear

Your password is located next to Key Content in the output’s “Security Settings.”

 

Find  Wi-Fi passwords through Windows Settings.

Instead of using the Command Prompt, you can look up your Wi-Fi password by navigating through the Windows menu system. The disadvantage is that this needs a lot of clicks.

You can either right-click the Start button or press Windows+X and open the Windows settings menu.

Open Windows settings app and navigate to Network & Internet.

In the Network & Internet section, on the right-side pane scroll down and go to “Advanced Network sections”.

Next, click on “More network Adapter options” under the Related settings section.

This will open the Network connections window.

Right-click the “Wifi Adapter” (the Wifi network connected to your PC) and select the “Status” option.

Following that, click the Wireless Properties button to open a new window.

Go to the Security tab. If you look, you’ll see a field called “Network security key.”

To view your Wi-Fi password, tick the “Show characters” checkbox under the Network security key.
